Mrs. Gardner watched Ryanne White leap into action moments before Thanksgiving break to help our custodian without ever being asked. No agenda. No applause needed. Just pure Buccaneer pride and a servant’s heart. Ryanne didn’t just hear the call—she answered it. Well done!
Mrs. Dodd recognized Max Vargas for something the world needs a whole lot more of—integrity. Max consistently makes the right choice, even when no one’s keeping score. That’s leadership in its purest form. Way to set the bar, Max!

In his classroom, students don’t just learn about food—they step into a real working kitchen where hands-on learning builds confidence, skills, and professionalism. From cooking and costing to planning and serving, every lesson is a taste of the culinary world.

“I teach Culinary Arts through hands-on, real-world learning that builds confidence, skills, and professionalism. My classroom runs like a working kitchen where students learn by doing—cooking, costing, planning, and serving. I set high expectations, provide strong support, and create a positive team culture where every student feels valued. My mission is to prepare students with the practical skills, work ethic, and mindset they need to succeed in the culinary industry and in life.”

“The light-bulb moment for me is when a student steps out of their comfort zone, tries something they were sure they wouldn’t like, and that doubt suddenly turns into, ‘Whoa… this is amazing!’ That moment of discovery—when their whole perspective shifts always makes my day as a teacher.”

Our students shared the gift of joy at The Arboretum this month. On December 9, Cosmetology students brightened residents’ days with manicures, conversation, and plenty of smiles. Then on December 17, our Elementary Student Council stopped by to spread holiday cheer with Christmas carols.
