When one of our own needs support, Buccaneers pull together.
East Chambers coaches presented Darrell Tezeno with a $3,000 donation from the THSCA Benevolence Fund to support his fight against leukemia.
Community fundraisers on Nov. 8 and Nov. 22 will continue that wave of support.

⚓🍎 Teacher Talks Tuesday 🍎📚
Meet Macey Richard, an English teacher at ECHS in her second year! Macey brings passion and dedication to the classroom, helping students not only analyze literature and write essays but also gain confidence and connect their learning to the real world 🌎✨
✍️What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe that teaching English is more than analyzing literature and writing essays. It’s about helping students build confidence in their writing and connect their experiences to the real world 🌟. My goal as a high school English teacher is to create a classroom where students feel respected, inspired to express themselves, and prepared for the next step in their future 🎓
💡What’s your favorite ‘lightbulb moment’ you see in students?
There’s something special about watching a student's confidence grow . When they go from saying “I can’t do this” to proudly showing off their essay they completed , I think it’s important to help students see themselves as capable learners 🌟
💛What do you love about teaching at ECISD?
I love teaching at East Chambers because in this district, there is a strong community connection. Our school has felt like family since my first day here, and everyone truly knows and supports one another. We take pride in our students' wins both in and out of the classroom.

⚓🍎 Teacher Talks Tuesday 🍎📚🏈
This week, we’re celebrating Coach Chris Fontenot, a true EC legend! With 32 years in education — 28 of those right here at East Chambers — Coach Fontenot wears many hats: Biology Teacher, Football Defensive Coordinator, and Pole Vault Coach.
🧬 Teaching Philosophy:
“I believe building relationships is vital. I always try to show students how what we’re learning applies to their lives. Teaching isn’t just about preparing for a test — it’s about helping young people grow into responsible young adults.”
💡 Favorite Lightbulb Moment:
“It’s awesome when students finally understand a concept. As a Biology teacher, I love seeing students grasp genetics and recognize how traits are passed down in their own families.”
💚 What I Love About ECISD:
“I love the family atmosphere here at East Chambers. The faculty and staff are always pulling the rope in the same direction, with the students’ best interests at heart. I may not have graduated from EC, but I went to school here when I was young — East Chambers is FAMILY. Go Bucs!!!!” ⚓💛💚

Two Buccaneers were recognized with Challenge Coins for showing kindness and true Buccaneer spirit! ⚓️
👏 Cordell went out of his way to share his extra breakfast with another student — a simple act that showed compassion and leadership.
👏 Cally noticed a friend without a spirit item and didn’t hesitate to share hers — a great example of generosity and school pride!
Way to go, Cordell and Cally! You make EC proud! 💚💛

⚓🍎 Teacher Talks Tuesday 🍎✏️📚
This week, we’re spotlighting Mr. Lindsey, our 8th grade Early American History teacher at ECISD!📜
Even in just three years, Mr. Lindsey says the growth he’s experienced “feels like decades in the classroom.” What he loves most about ECISD? The strong sense of community — knowing his students and their families beyond the classroom. “Here, students aren’t numbers — they’re individuals with unique stories, strengths, and dreams.” 💚🌟
Mr. Lindsey’s teaching style brings history to life through a human lens — connecting past and present in meaningful ways. One of his favorite lessons? Introducing the Declaration of Independence as a “breakup letter” from the colonies to King George III! 💔📜👑
Fun fact: He visited Boston during the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party — an experience that fueled his love for American history! ☕🚢✨
We’re proud to have teachers like Mr. Lindsey who make learning come alive and inspire students to see themselves as part of the story! 💛💚
