My classroom runs like a working kitchen where students learn by doing—cooking, costing, planning, and serving. I set high expectations, provide strong support, and create a positive team culture where every student feels valued. My mission is to prepare students with the practical skills, work ethic, and mindset they need to succeed in the culinary industry and in life.”
💡 Favorite Lightbulb Moment:
“The light-bulb moment for me is when a student steps out of their comfort zone, tries something they were sure they wouldn’t like, and that doubt suddenly turns into, ‘Whoa… this is amazing!’ That moment of discovery—when their whole perspective shifts always makes my day as a teacher.”

“I enjoy teaching at ECISD because the administration genuinely supports its staff and ensures we always have the resources we need. That level of trust and backing allows me to focus on teaching, creating opportunities, and giving students the best experience possible.”

No spotlight, no audience, just heart. Heroes don’t wear capes at EC… they wear hats, jeans, and kindness. Outstanding, Jermaul!

Our students shared the gift of joy at The Arboretum this month. On December 9, Cosmetology students brightened residents’ days with manicures, conversation, and plenty of smiles. Then on December 17, our Elementary Student Council stopped by to spread holiday cheer with Christmas carols.

When students feel connected to me, to each other, and to the content, they begin to develop both academic skills and a sense of belonging.”

“My favorite lightbulb moment happens when a student suddenly realizes they can do something that they immediately wrote off as impossible. When these moments happen I am reminded that learning is not only about mastering content it is also about helping students discover their own abilities.”
