Teacher Talks Tuesday 🍎✨
Today we’re featuring high school Entrepreneurship teacher Amber Parker! She’s passionate about helping students connect classroom learning to the real world and preparing them for life beyond graduation. 💼📚
What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy centers around not only preparing students for their current content, but for life beyond the classroom. When students understand how a lesson connects to real world situations, they are more engaged and motivated. I love getting to play the role that helps bridge academic content with real life application. One of my greatest goals is guiding students to become lifelong learners. Success isn’t always defined by grades, but by curiosity, responsibility, and the ability to learn beyond school. Hopefully my students leave my classroom equipped with the knowledge, skills, and mindset they need to confidently navigate their future!
What’s your favorite ‘lightbulb moment’ you see in students?
My favorite “lightbulb moment” is when students suddenly connect a business concept we’ve learned in class to something they see in real life, like recognizing marketing strategies their favorite brands are using to get them to purchase things or understanding supply and demand in everyday life. It shows me the learning has truly clicked! It’s even more rewarding when former students come back and share how they’re applying those same concepts in their careers. That’s when I know the impact lasted beyond the classroom!
What do you love about teaching at ECISD?
ECISD is all about community. It’s why I loved growing up and going to school here and why I chose to raise my children in the same district! The amount of kindness and support for each student is unmatched! We have an amazing administration and school board who are open to ideas and are willing to step into uncharted territory when it comes to providing new opportunities for our students! They truly want the best for our students and I love getting to be a part of that!
We’re grateful for educators like Amber who inspire students to think bigger, dream bigger, and build bright futures. 💚💛

Dear East Chambers Families,
With heavy hearts, we share that two students were involved in an overnight accident, and one student has passed away. We are deeply grieving as a school community, and our thoughts and prayers are with the student’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Out of respect for the family, we are not releasing the name.
We encourage you to spend time with your child, listen, and support them as they process this loss. Grief looks different for everyone, and all feelings are valid.
Additional counselors will be available at the junior high and high school on Monday to support both students and staff.
Please know we are here for you and your family, and we will walk through this together.
Andrea Smith
Superintendent

📣Teacher Talks Tuesday
This week we’re featuring Junior High math teacher Mrs. Pamela Savoie! From building confidence in the classroom to creating a family-like atmosphere on campus, Mrs. Savoie brings heart, humor, and encouragement to her students every single day. Let’s get to know her a little better 💚💛
What is your teaching philosophy?
Answering “what is your teaching philosophy?” is always a hard one. I’m not sure I have a teaching philosophy, but a passion. I have a passion for students to know the love of Jesus through teaching math—by the way I respond to them, the way I love them, the way I speak to them, and the way I show them hard work. All wrapped into that, they get to learn a little bit (or a lot a bit!) of math at the same time. My passion is for my students to feel loved and seen when they walk out the door. ✨
What’s your favorite ‘lightbulb moment’ you see in students?
I love when students finally feel comfortable enough to ask math questions 💡
What do you love about teaching at ECISD?
I love the community at ECJH because it feels like a family. We support and encourage each other in and out of the classroom… and the ice machine in the lounge is a sweet little bonus 🧊😄
We’re so thankful for the passion and care Mrs. Savoie pours into her students and our ECJH family. Thank you for helping students feel seen, supported, and confident—one math lesson at a time! 💚💛
