Mrs. Major’s ABLE students took learning beyond the classroom with a shopping trip to Market Basket! Each student worked on practicing important skills such as planning, making choices, comparing prices, and managing money.
It was a meaningful opportunity for our Buccaneers to build confidence and independence through a real-life experience. 💚💛🏴☠️
#LearningDeck #OwnTheMoment

We’re excited to bring back Teacher Talks Tuesday and continue introducing you to the incredible educators who make a difference across ECISD!
This week, we’re getting to know ECHS Math Teacher Meredith Cart! Mrs. Cart is passionate about helping students build confidence, embrace challenges, and discover their ability to succeed.
What is your teaching philosophy?
My philosophy of teaching is centered on creating an inclusive and engaging environment where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to take an active role in their learning. My students are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, learn from mistakes, and develop confidence in their abilities, allowing each to discover his or her strengths and become independent learners. Ultimately, I want my teaching to have an impact beyond the classroom. I focus on building meaningful relationships with students in order to help each develop curiosity, critical thinking, communication skills, confidence, and a lifelong desire to learn.
What’s your favorite ‘lightbulb moment’ you see in students?
Algebra 2 is an abstract subject where students often cannot see the usefulness of the concepts to real life. My lightbulb moment comes when a student realizes that a difficult concept suddenly makes sense. This moment leaves students believing they are capable of understanding challenging math. It is a rewarding moment for both teacher and student!
What do you love about teaching at ECISD?
There are so many things that I love about teaching at ECISD. God led me here in 2016 for my 13th year of teaching. Everyone was welcoming, helpful, supportive, and friendly like one big, happy family. It didn't take long for me to realize that EC is where I belonged! Both of my children attended East Chambers as students. East Chambers ISD is very special to my family and we are fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of the district!
💡 Fun Fact: In addition to being a certified math teacher, I am a certified agricultural science teacher and a certified school counselor!
We are proud to have Mrs. Cart sharing her many talents with our Buccaneers! 💚💛

From supporting classrooms and solving technical problems to maintaining the systems our district relies on each day, their work touches every campus and department—often behind the scenes.
Thank you for your patience, expertise, and commitment to our students and staff. We appreciate all you do to keep ECISD sailing smoothly! 💚💛

Before this month’s regular School Board meeting, East Chambers ISD hosted a New Hire Reception to welcome employees who recently joined our district.
Board members and administrators enjoyed visiting with our newest Buccaneers and celebrating the experience, talent, and enthusiasm they bring to ECISD. We are excited to have them on our team! 🏴☠️

Hank recently received a Buccaneer Challenge Coin from Mr. McGhee in recognition of his kindness and character. While attending the rodeo, Hank noticed a woman using a wheelchair who needed help getting where she was going—and he stepped up without hesitation.
Hank has a heart of gold, wonderful manners and a fun-loving spirit! He is an all-around great kid who represents what it means to be a Buccaneer. We are proud of you, Hank—and great job, Mom and Dad! 🏴☠️
