Tadeo Villanueva received a Buccaneer Challenge coin from Mrs. Leday. Mrs. Leday chose Tadeo as her Buccaneer coin recipient because he has the heart of a Buccaneer! Tadeo is such a hard worker! He practiced reading a book many times, until it was perfect. He then wanted to read it with Mrs. Leday. He was so proud of himself, and Mrs. Leday was even prouder! Way to have a Buccaneer heart, Tadeo! 💛💚

"I am presenting my challenge coin to Vania Ramirez. Vania has worked so hard toward learning the English language since arriving at EC last year. Her hard work has paid off because she earned a spot as a top AR reader for the grade and our class. Vania is always ready to learn. Keep working hard. Ernesto Lopez received a Buccaneer Challenge coin because he is always smiling. He is happy to be at school and always gives his best effort. He loves learning and he loves to play! Anytime, anyone looks at him, he gives them a great, big smile!!

Mrs. Honeycutt says, "I am proud to present Ilian with a Challenge Coin! Ilian has taken on a huge responsibility by helping me translate for a new student in our class. She stepped into this role without hesitation and has since become a true friend and support system. Her compassion, initiative, and kindness have helped bridge the gap—and she’s even taught her new friend a few words in English! Thank you, Ilian. I couldn’t have done it without you!"
