Scott Campbell

After a remarkable career spanning nearly four decades, Mr. Scott Campbell will retire as Superintendent of East Chambers ISD this Friday, August 29.

Mr. Campbell began his career in education at High Island ISD, where he taught math, English, history, and Spanish to grades 7–12. During his time there, he directed the One Act Play, coached debate, journalism, and extemporaneous speaking, and served as Student Council sponsor and junior and senior class sponsor. He later became K–12 Principal and then Superintendent of High Island ISD, gaining valuable leadership experience that he would carry forward to East Chambers.

A proud East Chambers graduate of the Class of 1979, Mr. Campbell returned to his home district in 1994 as Elementary Principal, then served briefly as Assistant Superintendent before becoming Superintendent in December 1997. Under his leadership, East Chambers ISD has grown academically and culturally, with countless programs, initiatives, and opportunities developed to support students, staff, and the community.

Mr. Campbell said. “From my days as a student to my years as Superintendent, East Chambers has been home. I am proud to have had the opportunity to serve in the place that gave me so much.”

His final day will be marked with reflections on a career defined by service, leadership, and heart. His legacy will continue to inspire generations of Buccaneers for years to come.
