The Graduation ceremony is scheduled for Friday, May 29, 2020 at 8:00 PM in Buccaneer Stadium. Graduates should report to the front of the Multipurpose Facility at 7:00 PM and should be in dress code. You will receive instructions on how to line up for the ceremony. No helium balloons, confetti or glitter will be permitted in the stadium. ECISD is a tobacco-free zone. The use of tobacco products or e-cigarettes (vapes) is strictly prohibited. Graduation is a formal occasion and should be treated as a celebration but in a reverent manner.
Graduates are expected to behave in an appropriate manner.
Students or guests who are considered to be under the influence of drugs, or alcohol will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.
Graduates cell phones must be off and out of sight during the ceremony.
School officials or law enforcement will immediately escort out of the stadium any graduate or spectator who is acting in a disruptive manner.
Graduates acting in a disruptive manner may not receive their diploma until disciplined.
Graduates will only be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremonies if they are in dress code. Make sure you wear something cool and comfortable. Young men are required to wear dark colored pants, dress shoes or boots, and a white or light colored collared shirt. A tie is recommended but not required. Dress jeans with boots or nice Sperry shoes are acceptable. Casual sandals, flip-flops, or sneakers are not acceptable. Young ladies are required to wear a dress, skirt or jumper under your gown. It looks best if the dress is not longer than the gown. Ladies may not wear casual sandals, flip-flops or sneakers. Dress sandals are acceptable. Please think about the shoes you are planning to wear. Since we will be on the turf field, please consider not wearing shoes with a pointed heel. We do not want your heels to sink into the turf and cause you to trip. Tassels go on the left side of the cap and are moved to the right side after you receive your diploma. School dress code as it relates to facial hair, hair length, and piercings will be strictly enforced. Graduates who are out of compliance will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony. It is a good idea to put your name on the inside of your hat so that you don’t lose track of it after it has been tossed in the air.
All graduates will receive a blank diploma holder during the actual ceremony. Graduates will pick up their official diploma and scholarship forms on Monday, June 1, 2020 in the High School Office.
