EC Offering Free Meals for Children

While East Chambers ISD operates the remote learning platform due to Covid-19 concerns, we will be offering breakfasts and lunches to all children in our community from 1-18 years old, at no cost to the family.

We understand the hardship this situation may be causing many families due to your own work schedules, so we want to be as helpful as possible.

You may drive through the connecting road between Buccaneer and School Road where the Dome Cafeteria is located between 7:15 A.M. and 10:00 A.M. beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, and we will provide curbside service supplying you with a breakfast and a lunch for each of your children from 1-18 years old.  For those who cannot come during this time, we will serve lunch only between 11:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. using the same procedures.

We appreciate your patience and support during this challenging time and hope we can return to our normal routine of on site instruction very soon.

Scott Campbell,

Superintendent ECISD

Important Update from EC Superintendent Scott Campbell

East Chambers ISD will be transitioning to a remote education platform beginning on Monday, March 16, 2020 for at least one week with decisions about extending remote instruction being made as conditions warrant.  UIL has postponed all UIL academic and athletic activities for two weeks beginning on Monday as well. Students will receive instruction in their courses during the day as they otherwise would have on site from the faculty of East Chambers ISD only now in a variety of different ways including live streaming on Google Classroom, by phone, and email.  Hard copy assignments will also be available.  Your child's campus principal will be providing more information as the program progresses. Additionally, our child nutrition department will be providing breakfast and lunch for students.  Parents may pick up a breakfast and lunch between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M. or lunch only between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. by curbside service at the dome cafeteria beginning Monday.

East Chambers ISD is reaching out to locate all of our students who were or remain, at any time, out of their homes due to Tropical Storm Imelda.

East Chambers ISD schools are open. (updated Tuesday, 9/24/2019)

The plan, currently, is to restart school with staff and students at the regular time on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.   In the spirit of volunteerism, students who are performing community service will be excused after breakfast to continue that service on Tuesday morning and may return to school for lunch and be excused again Tuesday afternoon.  Parental consent, adult supervision, and location of volunteer work must be provided.

In spite of the loss, pain, and suffering in our community, let us rejoice in that we still have our greatest resource and the only reason we keep sailing...the children.  Their well-being is our first priority.

East Chambers ISD is committed to doing everything it can to ease the burden.

Student Health Care Provisions

As we resume normal operations at ECISD, we understand there may be residual effects from the Flood of '17 on some of our students that will need to be addressed.  Their mental and physical health are important to their education.  As part of our partnership with the Winnie Stowell Hospital District, ECISD will be utilizing funds already being provided by the WSHD to ramp up help for any of our students impacted by this disaster who need assistance.  Please let us know of any specific concerns you have with any trauma regarding your child, and we will work to resolve it.  You may contact Katie Sparks or Cindy Bull directly or just mention your concerns to any teacher, and he/she will get them the information.  We will be able to provide assistance ranging from basic first aid and examinations to counseling and are in a position to bring in additional staff and resources as needed during the recovery period.  I want to again thank the WSHD Board for continuing to provide funding to meet the health care needs for ECISD students in need of assistance.  It allows us to focus more of our own resources in the classroom.

ECISD Contact for Homeless and Donations

Cindy Bull, the Special Populations Director, is the designated contact and homeless coordinator for East Chambers ISD. Donations can be coordinated with her and will be distributed to those in need including clothes and supplies. She may be reached at 409-296-8302 or 409-659-5860.

ECISD Update

East Chambers ISD will begin school on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. Buses will run at their regular times. Parents, please do not worry about school supplies if you have not already purchased them. We have plenty to start school. Also, no student will be charged for breakfast or lunch during the month of September, so don't worry about sending money unless your child wants to purchase items from the snack or a la carte lines. Depending on our suppliers of milk and produce, the menu may be temporarily modified, but we do have milk to serve with meals that will be prepared next week. We are ready and excited to get started.

The District understands there are some families who are displaced and may not be able to begin on Tuesday. No worries. They will not be counted absent until they are able to return to school. The District also understands that there are people who need their children back in school because they have to work, and they can rest assured their children are provided transportation, a hot breakfast and lunch, and a safe place.

Scott Campbell,

Superintendent ECISD

Important Announcement from East Chambers iSD

As our community continues to deal with the storm, ECISD has determined that it is in the best interest of the people to delay the first day of school until Tuesday, September 5th. This week is a time for neighbors helping neighbors, assessing damage, and cleaning up.  There is a larger lesson for our students to learn this week than they might experience in the classroom.  Have empathy for one another, and step up to lend a helping hand.  Stay safe.

Mantenerse a salvo.

Superintendent Announces "Buy a Buc a Book" Program bookaneer

(click above for complete print)

As your Superintendent, I would like to introduce an initiative involving third through eighth grades at EC that we ask you to consider.  We are making a concerted effort at EC to get students to read more on their own – just for the pleasure and joy of reading.  A side effect of reading more is that students become more successful in all of their academic pursuits.  This initiative is a way for the good citizens of our community to directly impact the education of our children.  We are providing a list of books that are considered standards for children’s literature or that have been approved by at least one family-centered organization, according to the Texas Education Agency which provides the list to parents on their child’s STAAR Student Report.  I am providing the list here for you.

Information for parents for November 8, 2016

There has been some discussion about an unauthorized visitor at the Junior High Campus yesterday at the end of the day.  We did have a person come onto the campus without a pass who was briefly kneeling at one of our flagpoles; however, there was no interaction with any of our students, and he left after a few minutes.  We do not have any reason to believe that there was any threat.

We are using the episode to practice our safety and security measures today.  There should be no alarm as we drill during the day today.  These drills and measures give us the practice we need to ensure everyone is safe in the event of a real threat.

Thank you for your concern.  As always, your child's safety is of the utmost importance to ECISD.

Scott Campbell,

Superintendent ECISD
