Instructional
technology is a growing field of study which uses technology
as a means to solve educational challenges, both in the
classroom and in distance learning environments. Districts
which are promoting technological advancement in order to meet
the requirements of No Child Left Behind and more
specifically, the Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology, are
expecting their teachers to integrate technology into their
instruction. Students should learn to use technology as a
problem-solving tool while teachers use it to enhance and
enrich the curriculum already being taught. In addition,
teachers
should be able to demonstrate proficiency of the same
Technology Application TEKS required of students in Grades
K-8.
