Girls and boys from each grade level are nominated by teachers based on academics, behavior, attendance, and overall character. Then one boy and one girl from each grade level are voted as a six weeks’ superstar. The incentive trip for these students includes a school sponsored trip to Wal-mart to help choose incentive prizes which are used at the awards assembly at the end of the six weeks. Names are drawn based on A and A/B honor roll and perfect attendance. Following the trip to Wal-mart is a lunch at the new Lamar University Café.
