Rayburn
Receives DEKALB Agricultural Award |
 |
Lana Rayburn, a senior at East
Chambers High School was
recently presented the school's
highest agricultural honor, the
DEKALB Agricultural
Accomplishment Award, sponsored
by Monsanto Company. She is the
daughter of Kyle and Annette
Rayburn of Winnie. Lana received
the award for excellence in
academics, leadership, and
agricultural work experience.
Her accomplishments include
graduating in the top 10% of the
2008 class, serving as chapter,
district, and area FFA officer,
and winning livestock shows on
the national level. Michael
Neuman is the Ag instructor at
ECHS. |

EC FFA Horse
Judging Team Places |
|
The East Chambers FFA Horse
Judging Team traveled to
Lubbock, Texas, to compete at
Texas Tech University on April
19, 2008.
The team consisting of senior
Lana Rayburn and freshmen
Kelli Neuman, Cody Brist,
and Skylor Richard placed
in the top 4%.
Congratulations to the team for
their hard work and effort. |

FFA Greenhand Quiz
Team to Compete at State Level |
 |
The East Chambers FFA
Greenhand Quiz Team, consisting
of Savannah Web,
Cullen Sonnier, Jack
Lowrance, and Kaleb
Lavergne, competed at the
district level and received
second place team and advanced
to area. At the area level, they
competed at Stephen F. Austin
University, and received second
place team. Savannah Webb was
third place overall high-point
individual, Cullen Sonnier was
sixth, Jack Lowrance seventh,
and Kaleb Lavergne ninth.
The team will compete at the
state level at Sam Houston State
University on
December 1. |
