Good nutrition is based on making good choices. In an effort to assist
parents and students in their choices, East Chambers ISD Child Nutrition
Department has adopted the Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH)
Program. The goal of this program is to help children choose healthy
foods throughout the day. *You will note that the menu has items color coded
with GO, SLOW,
and WHOA to assist you in making healthy
menu choices.
|
|
|
|
GO - foods that
you can eat "almost anytime." These foods are lowest in fat. |
|
SLOW - are
"sometimes foods" -- foods that you can eat maybe a few times a week. These
foods are higher in fat. |
|
WHOA -
are "once in a while foods" -- foods that you can eat on occasion but need
to be combined with other "GO"
foods. These foods are highest in fat. |

food categories at:
