The teams were given a mystery bag of ingredients and with only 40 minutes came up with a main dish that really impressed the judges. Not only did the teams prepare and present what they made, they also stood in front of a judging panel explaining how the meal related to MyPlate, nutrition facts about the food and how it helps their bodies, how they could make the recipe healthier and how they remained safe and sanitary during the competition.
EC had two senior teams compete and one junior team.
