Superintendent Announces "Buy a Buc a Book" Program

bookaneer

The initiative calls for interested members of our community or organizations within our community to purchase one or more books from the lists.  When you do, we suggest that you autograph and write something inside the cover of the book(s) that might serve as an inspiration to the child who receives it.  It might be a book that you enjoyed as a child, or you might just want to give a book in memory of someone in your family who inspired your own love for reading.  We are looking for a connection so that children come to understand the importance of becoming a lifelong reader.  Additionally, if you provide a self-addressed envelope with your gift, we will be sure you receive an acknowledgment from the child who receives your book(s).  The book(s) will be the child’s to keep.  You may deliver your books at any time to the central office or any campus office, and we will identify those students who would most benefit from your gift of reading.  We also are going to ask students to write a book review of the books they read and will offer these reviews for the public to enjoy.

The initiative has begun.  We hope to see you delivering your book(s) throughout the year.

Thanking you in advance on behalf of all of the children of Winnie/Stowell,

Scott Campbell, Superintendent of Schools
