The East Chambers FFA also won the Texas Rice Festival Premiere award in memory of Holly Fahey Christensen. The premier award is given to the chapter that accumulates the most points by placing in the top five in the livestock show, welding contest and livestock judging. This year was the biggest livestock show to date with 300 head of cattle and over 40 chapters participating.
And finally, the following East Chambers FFA students, who traveled to Kountze and got first place in Chambers County in a wildlife contest. The wild life team consisted of Zach Touchet, Kaleb McLaurin, Brett Phillips and Ethan Reddell. They will be advancing to regionals.
