The Bucs offense had one of its best nights of the season. There quite a few contributors and the offensive line help set the tone for the game as 2 lineman were named the co-offensive player of the week, Ethan Reddell and Noah DeMoss. Austin Sutherland threw for 2 touchdowns. Antwaan Anderson (3 receptions – 71 yards) and Kye Williams each had a touchdown reception. Aaron Sutherland had 2 catches for 21 yards. The rushing attack had 6 major contributors. Dylan Silcox had 12 carries for 106 yards and scored twice. Silcox has scored 11 touchdowns while playing in 4 of the 5 Buccaneer games this season. Darius Guillory scored twice as well on only 3 carries that totaled 123 yards. Kye Williams carried the ball 4 time for 55 yards and a score while Trevor Thomas and Ashton Wheatfall also had rushing touchdowns. Chris Carnahan tallied 71 yards on 3 carries.
The Buccaneer defense continued its dominant ways giving up only 13 points. Dylan Silcox and Colton Devillier shared the defensive player of the game honors. Silcox had tackles but his major contribution was 3 interceptions. Devillier tallied 7 tackles and broke up a pass play. The defense has surrendered only 26 points on the season. To put that in perspective, the Bucs offense has scored more points in every game than the defense has given up all season.
The Bucs sit at 5-0 overall and 2-0 in district play. The next game will be Friday, October 9th at Warren.
