EC's Karen Slay honored by Winnie Area Chamber of Commerce

Karen taught in Beaumont schools for 10 years before she came to East Chambers. She taught French and Spanish for the first few years and has been teaching Spanish 1, 2, and 3 ever since. She is married to Chester Slay, and they have two children, Andrew and Laura. They also have five grandchildren. Karen was named EC’s secondary teacher of the year in 2002 and was also nominated for Region 4 Teacher of the Year. Karen sponsors NHS and Challenge Team, and she has been served many years on the high school Campus Advisory Team. Karen is well respected by her co-workers and students, and East Chambers High School is proud to have such a fine educator on our faculty.
