Military Appreciation Games Announced

There will be a ceremony honoring veterans and active duty military personnel prior to the varsity baseball game at 4:30 (if you have attended in the past, thank you and know that additional patriotic groups will participate this year making it an even more memorable day).

All donations, T-shirt sales, raffle money, and concessions will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.  A $100.00 donation will allow a family, individual, or business to list their name, business, or honor a veteran/active duty person by placing their name on the game day jerseys of the players and the t-shirts available to fans.  The baseball team has participated in this event for the past 2 season and has secured over $12,000.00 that has been donated to the Wounded Warrior project from the games.  With the addition of the softball teams and the adding of the Hamshire-Fannett community, we expect to exceed the previous years’ combined total and hope you will support us and our military in this endeavor.

This year, we will be raffling a $500.00 gift certificate to Academy along with other items that we are presently collecting (if you have a great item to add to the raffle please let me know).  The cost of a raffle ticket will be $10.00.  All community members that wish to assist in the selling of raffle tickets are invited to do so.

We would like to thank Coach Shonna Wagley, Coach Todd East and the East Chambers softball teams for graciously deciding to be part of the event.  We also appreciate Coach Debbie Peltier and Coach Jarrod Morris for participating with the Hamshire-Fannett softball and baseball squads.  Last but not least, a tremendous debt of gratitude goes out to the Texas Association of Sports Officials for their continued support on the field and financially of the Military Appreciation Games.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Play Ball,

Mark Gaus – East Chambers Head Baseball Coach
